Road construction work was being done through Kamakhya Construction Company near Makhamilpur village of Karpi police station in Arwal district. It is being told that Naxalites had demanded levy. Naxalites set vehicles of the construction company on fire for not paying the levy. After getting information about the incident, the fire brigade team reached the spot and controlled the fire. Makhmilpur petrol pump is also near the incident. There was panic among petrol pump employees after Naxalites set on fire JCB, Highway and Road Roller engaged in road construction. Somehow the petrol pump personnel stopped the fire from coming towards the petrol pump otherwise a bigger incident could have happened.

At present, the police is busy identifying the Naxalites on the basis of CCTV footage installed at the petrol pump. The people of the construction company are so scared that they are refusing to say anything. In this regard, Arwal SDPO Kriti Kamal informed that some people have been detained in this case and are being interrogated. Only after interrogation and investigation will it be known whether the incident was carried out by Naxalites or the handiwork of mischievous elements. SDPO also says that the construction company had never filed a complaint regarding this matter demanding levy.
